Age or time

With each of the passing seasons we grow just a little bit older and a little less motivated to chase after our greatest and most obvious desires. With each passing season we become more settled in our life and we push ourselves just a little less. It’s not that we don’t have dreams and visions, it is just that those dreams and visions have been cultivated by the continuing passing of the seasons. We are no longer the same youthful explorative and energetic people we once were. So, we allow the seasons to pass without conviction. And then one day we look around and realize that we have not met our own criteria for a successful life.
The whole point of living is to do what we feel is right and necessary for ourselves, and we can challenge the passing seasons with our own fortitude. There is no reason to allow age or time or situation to pull us down into a world where we feel we are not the ones in control. Time will pass no matter what we do. It’s how we choose to spend the passing of the seasons that counts more. We can become complacent or we can chase down our heart’s desire in spite of the bills and the kids and the family. We do have it in us to balance it all so that when the seasons change one more time we realize we are one step closer to our true desires, not one step farther away.

Seasons

The seasons of play are rather subjective, although most people consider them to be the warm months of spring and summer. Play time means something different to everyone. Skiers and snowboarders believe the season of play comes with the first snow fall of winter while the sailors and kite boarders of the world believe the seasons of play are upon us when sweat drip from our cars from the heat. Either way, everyone is entitled to a season of play.Making the most out of a season of play isn’t always easy. The seasons can slip by quickly when there is so much to do and often you find that your time simply can’t be structured as well as you would like in order to invite more play time for your seasons of choice.The seasons of play are not always convenient for us. As much as we would like to drop work, gather the kids, and run off for a season’s long play period, we have to be responsible adults and work for a living. There are ways to extend your play seasons, especially if you save for a vacation or you can buy special equipment to extend your play seasons beyond their normal reaches. Either way, the gift of one season of play time for a grown up is often better than the holidays, as nature’s gift offers us a fabulous time for at least three months of playing hard. Any enthusiast knows how much we need those seasons of play time.
